I AGREE wholeheartedly with Christine Hird about the parking curfew in the new car park at Footscray Meadows (Parking Pain, News Shopper, April 26).
There is public access to the meadows at all times and to deny people who are not in walking distance of this beautiful open space for a limited period is outrageous.
It is not only the dog walkers who use this facility at all times but people with babies who have pushchairs, children bringing various toys bikes and kites and the disabled.
In the summer it is an ideal venue to bring a picnic and enjoy the area in the long warm evenings, especially for those who do not have gardens in which to relax, without having to keep note of the time for fear of having their cars locked in.
