I HAVE to say with attitudes towards the Olympics like so many of your readers it is little wonder this country produces so few world-class athletes, after generations of parents like these people.

It is no surprise they do not wish to contribute to the Games now as they haven't contributed to sport in the past.

As a mother with young children I worry about their adolescent years. I don't want them hanging the streets, but inspired by sports and the arts.

Without proper funding, goals such as the Olympics will not happen. I do not particularly like Ken Livingstone, but he is more in touch with what Londoners want than whinging old pensioners.
