WHEN Bromley Council's "rubbish police" (Recycle Your Rubbish Or Face Fine of £1,000, News Shopper, April 19) demand to know why I have not left out any bottles or tins in their recycling boxes, how am I to convince them I only use about one tin every three weeks, and one or two jars a month?
And will they empty out my rubbish onto the pavement to check whether I am telling the truth?
The council's proposed fine of £1,000 sounds a worthy idea, but for someone such as myself it has the makings of a nightmare.
