Regarding the letter Drivers Must Think Before They Park (News Shopper, April 19) where Sue Nagle complains about cars parking along Somerset Avenue.

May I point out not everyone is fortunate enough to own a driveway which parks up to four cars.

Nor are they fortunate enough to afford to have one built, which is obviously why motorists are forced to park in the street and risk their cars being damaged by passing vehicles, who have not enough access to the road.

Bexley Council's parking department has not got enough sense to allow motorists to park two wheels on the kerbs to let emerging vehicles through and make it easier for everyone.

The council is very happy to let its zealous parking wardens slap a ticket on those who do, even if this procedure makes sense to anyone with intelligence.
