Royal Mail is able to ensure this happens because it uses technology called ABC.
When a collections driver empties a box, they swipe a code on the box which records the time it is done.
These codes are on all boxes and allow our teams to ensure collections are done regularly and on time.
We are sorry to hear of his experience with customer services, but can assure him at busy times customers are given the option of holding. Customers may be advised to call again at a less busy time.
It is with the help of technology and hard work. We have been able to sustain record delivery figures across the UK. In the BR postcode, quality of service figures continue to be significantly above target.
