I WOULD like to register a formal complaint regarding the geographic set up of the bus lane running from Orpington Carlton Parade down Cray Avenue, past the turning left into Station road St Mary Cray.
Whoever designed the length of the lane must be commended, for their intentional effort in stealing money from the car-driving public and causing huge delays in the process. Good for the council coffers though.
The bus lane should terminate about 200 yards before the railway bridge.
Currently drivers have to sit in traffic for up to 20 minutes awaiting the opportunity to turn left into station road, right at the point of entry, while the bus lane, generally empty, is used to persecute motorists, who a) want to turn left and b) want to alleviate traffic congestion.
Please review/modify the length of this lane.
Logic went out of the window when this one was thought up.
And while I am at it, phone calls to the council requesting the road salt boxes on Tregony Road (steep hill) be filled are ignored.
It is time this council got its priorities right.
