I WOULD like to say thank you to the woman who insisted on elbowing my daughter in the head to stop her seeing Father Christmas arrive in the Broadway, Bexleyheath, on November 6.

We were four adults standing in the rain with my five-year-old daughter, my two-year-old daughter and a six-year-old friend.

The lady in question was with a child and a few adults who had positioned themselves up against the railings and refused to move over.

There was only space for one child to see Father Christmas, so when my daughter and her friend tried to get close enough to see, the lady (who was not really worthy of the term) insisted on pushing her elbow on the railing, against my daughter's head so she could not see.

My two-year-old was wailing to see the parade and Father Christmas and my five-year-old was crying because she was getting squashed but this woman simply refused to budge and did not even care when I asked her not to elbow my child.

Surely this event is all about children making it special for them?

Come on, please rethink your attitude. Selfishness is all too common and a little kindness goes a long way.

I hope both my little girls' cries resonated throughout your head when you left. Happy Christmas.
