THE British National Party recently leafleted Mead Way and the surrounding streets, claiming to support the anti-phone mast campaign.
As a resident of Mead Way I am disgusted at the way the BNP have hijacked the campaign against the phone mast.
This is a non-political matter and the last thing Bromley needs is more irrational bigotry.
It is not surprising the BNP is active in Bromley as it is arguably the most intolerant of all the London boroughs.
Whenever I read the letter pages of any local newspaper, they are full of anti-gypsy, anti- immigrant and homophobic sentiment.
As a mixed-race gay man, I believe Bromley needs more immigrants and diversity in general, rather than the small-minded little Englanders who currently populate the borough.
I would love to see Bromley follow the example of its neighbour Lewisham Borough and embrace sexual and racial diversity.
