RAGARDING the letter about the residents victory over Vodafone's mast application, I am overjoyed for them (Time For Phone Company To Go, News Shopper, October 4).
We fought for five years to stop masts being put near our homes in Crayford. We too wrote petitions, attended meetings, involved MPs and our councillors.
Alas, just as we thought we had beaten Vodafone, the company appealed to the inspectorate.
An inspector came down from Bristol and decided he could see no reason why we can't have six phone masts.
We do not want masts near our homes, schools or hospitals. We know they are a health risk but the Government is not listening.
I really hope it is the end of the fight for Lakeside Close but Vodafone do not give up.
