I AM shocked by Lewisham Mayor Steve Bullock's claims the central planning Government went against democracy and the people of Lewisham for their request for a new cinema to be opened in Catford.

Now he knows how the ordinary businesspeople and residents of Lewisham feel when they try to communicate with him or Lewisham Council.

The quality of services is poor and then there is the abuse by its employees.

There is also wastage of funds and poor planning, such as for the Ladywell baths, the town centre roundabout, Molesworth Road, Downham Pool as well as a host of other issues.

What happened to the peoples democratic opinion on all these and other occasions?

Come on Mr Bullock, it is time to remember what goes around comes around and you treat people how you want them to treat you.

Will he start to change your attitude to the people who elected him?

I wonder who they are as we now live in a true multicultural borough but we are not given this representation by Mr Bullock and his councillors.

I will try to run for office next year as it is time we had someone who listens and acts accordingly, not to please the minority but to be open as to why you made a decision.
