CHARLTON Athletic soar like a lark at the start of every football season and plummet to earth like a pheasant at the end of each season.

This is such a regular occurrence, the Addicks are ridiculed by football commentators for their annual flash-in-the-pan starts and subsequent collapses.

Why do Charlton lack stamina? Could the reason be poor diet?

Ian Wright said recently one of the reasons Arsenal do so well is due to strict dietary rules laid down by Arsene Wenger.

May I suggest to the Charlton management they enlist the help of Dr Gillian McKeith of You Are What You Eat fame?

I feel sure she could put things right.

My guess is with a much-needed improvement in diet there would be no more of this annual running out of puff.
