I have read a lot about the fireworks dispute for a couple of weeks now and wish to have my say.

I am a 30-year-old male, who has lived in London for ten years. When I was young Guy Fawkes night was a big thing for us kids.

I lived in Norfolk at the time and everybody gathered fuel for their bonfires, to see who could build the biggest It was also my cousin's birthday so we celebrated in style. All the streets would gather together and celebrate as a community.

Where has all the community spirit gone? All everybody does is moan about the noise and mess.

I can understand everybody's views on this and I think I have a solution.

Why can't we get the shops which sell fireworks to take orders and only distribute when the time comes?

It is greed which lets these shops sell them all year round.

People who want to buy them and celebrate should place their order, pay for them and then pick them up when the time is right.

I would be interested to find out if this solution would work. We can't ban something which has been celebrated for many years.

If the TV and grown ups taught the kids what it is all about maybe this tradition would become a great British one again.
