I WRITE regarding Jenny Orford's letter Ban Bans (News Shopper, October 20).
You really have got the wrong end of the stick.
People who dislike fireworks do not want to ban firework night altogether, we don't mind organised safe displays, they are worthwhile and enjoyable and, above all, you know where and when they are going to take place.
What we do want is to ban the private sale and use of fireworks.
They are a public menace and totally anti-social.
I am sick and tired of wondering when the next bang, whizz or flash is going to go off.
My little girl wakes up crying and scared and my poor dog sits and shakes because of them.
I can't believe people want to burn money.
They should pay and go to see the displays, they are actually worth the money and usually help a good cause.
I wish the government would listen and let me live in peace!
