I AM writing to complain about the inclusion of the letter from Tony Thompson (News Shopper, August 11).

The letter contains so many inaccuracies it really ought to have been thrown out immediately.

Whilst I do not dispute that FM Conway provides jobs for residents and is involved in recycling, the following list refutes just about every other point made in the letter.

1. No-one had a problem with FM Conway before Braeburn Park because they only used the site as a civil engineering depot until less than a year ago.

2. The A2 is not adjacent to the estate. FM Conway is within 100 yards of the nearest houses.

3. If schools are overburdened then it is the council's responsibility as they gave permission for the estate to be built.

4. The trains may be a bit busier but they are no worse than other lines. They certainly aren't over-burdened.

5. What are the scarce council resources he refers to? I am not aware of any problems. If there are, then once again they are the responsibility of the council.

6. It wasn't the residents of Braeburn Park who insisted on the traffic lights. And though it is a dead-end road, serving over 250 houses is hardly a usual close.

7. Residents won't get good prices for their homes with the spectre of FM Conway hanging over the estate.
