DARTFORD gets the thumbs down again for families in the borough, as this week my daughter and myself tried to take my grandchildren to the swimming pool.
We have two six year olds who can swim, a four year old and a toddler.
We wanted just to go into the teaching pool but we were turned away as their new policy states you need one adult per child under five and one adult per two children under eight.
Talking to friends and family, we found not a lot of people would be able to go to the pool.
Is this a result of our increasing compensation culture or the fact the Government and councils are taking away our parental responsibilities?
My grandchildren are the most important things to me and I would never compromise their safety.
I have lived in the borough for over thirty years and contributed to the council.
I say pull down the swimming pool for the new road but keep Dartford park as we can take four grandchildren there.
