I am writing to complain about the inclusion of Tony Thompson's letter, Bye Braeburn (News Shopper, August 18).

The letter contains so many inaccuracies it really ought to have been thrown out.

While I do not dispute FM Conway provides jobs for local people and is involved in recycling, the following list refutes just about every other point made in the letter.

1. No-one had a problem with FM Conway before Braeburn Park because they only used the site as a civil engineering depot until less than a year ago.

2. The A2 is not adjacent to the estate. FM Conway is within 100 yards of the nearest houses.

3. If schools are overburdened then it is the council's responsibility, as it gave permission for the estate to be built.

4. The trains may be a bit busier but they are no worse than other lines. They certainly aren't overburdened.

5. What are the scarce council resources he refers to? I am not aware of any problems. If there are, then it is the council's responsibility.

6. It wasn't the residents of Braeburn Park who insisted on the traffic lights. And it may technically be a dead-end road but it serves over 250 houses.

7. Residents won't get good prices for their homes while the spectre of FM Conway hangs over the estate, indeed, it is highly unlikely most properties could be sold at any price, so they can't vote with their feet.
