Rarely has a letter afforded me more amusement than Mr Robinson's Driven Mad by Ticket (News Shopper, August 11).

Too many letters in your paper complain about parking enforcement regimes, yet reveal the complainant considers themselves to be beyond the law.

By his own admission, Mr Robinson appears to find it perfectly acceptable the trailer of his articulated vehicle should be allowed to overhang the zig-zags which, in the interests of public safety, must be kept clear at pelican crossings to ensure pedestrians wishing to cross the road have a clear view of oncoming traffic.

He was only lucky he was apprehended by Bexley Council parking attendants and not by a competent PC knowing their duty.
