THERE TO LEARN: We keep hearing of schoolchildren being expelled for, as it is called, disruptive behaviour. But what is it? It is all very well a Gravesend school being involved in the making of a film about teenage violence and to hear the project has the approbation of the chief constable (Pupils Highlight Danger From Guns, News Shopper, January 14). However, the blunt fact is it is not possible to do two things at once. “Please sir, Michael Fuller says I don’t have to bother with Latin today.”

BEER PRICES: The Rising Sun pub in Fawkham is charging £2.80 for a pint of London Pride bitter, my favourite drink. Now that is expensive enough, but if you buy half a pint it will cost you £1.50.

I inquired about this and was answered with a shrug. Perhaps the landlord does not know about the recession?
