I AM writing in support of David Cutler’s letter (Dog Owners Should Clean Up After Pets, News Shopper, October 22).

Here in Bromley I have only every witnessed one person picking up their dog’s mess. Usually it is just left there.

Often the problem is teenagers taking their dog for a walk.

They are happy to do it but they do not leave the house with a bag in case their dog needs to poo.

They’re out with their friends, their dog poops and they don’t want to be seen picking it up in front of their friends so they just leave it.

Signposts warning about fines are completely useless because no-one is around to enforce them.

I cannot let my kids run free on the football field in Shortlands because of the dog poo.

I am originally from Canada, and there no-one dare leave their dog’s foul poop lying around.

Everyone knows to go out with a plastic bag and pick up the mess.

It is up to Bromley Council to toughen up and enforce bylaws.
