Bexley Council is forever moaning it doesn't have enough cash to fund all its services so why did it shell out £2 million for the Blockbusters' site in Sidcup High Street?
And how much more is it going to cost to redevelop the site into a new library and cinema? Where is that money going to come from?
We seem to be having a public consultation about what residents would like to see in the new library. Why haven't we been consulted about the projected move in the first place? Surely that is more important.
We already have a well-attended, easily accessible library that works fine just where it is. How can we justify this unnecessary expense?
The council would do better to rent the Blockbusters’ building to an established retail outfit like Wilkinsons or Primark, stores that we don’t currently have in the High Street.
