Letter to the editor: On October 18, People Before Profit activists will be supporting the People’s Assembly, USC, the Green Party, the TUC, NHS workers, firemen, teachers, the low paid and the jobless in the national Britain Needs a Payrise anti-austerity march through London.

A week earlier on October 11, at 11am, by Lewisham clocktower, Lewisham People’s Assembly is calling for people to speak about the impact of austerity on their lives and the misery of cuts and privatisation.

It is so easy to just sit on the sofa and say no one listens, or there is no point.

Please join us and thousands of Londoners marching together in solidarity for a society that fights for social justice, opposes bigotry and ignorance and wants no part in a Government that supports the politics of greed.

Nothing in our lifetime has been achieved without a fight.

What will it take for you all to say enough is enough and march together, as we have always done, to bring about the change we so desperately need.

RAY WOOLFORD, People Before Profit
