Letter to the editor: I recently broke my wrist and had to use the 403 bus service. My bus stop is Leyton Cross Road, and my timetable for this bus is the 9.31am.

On August 11, I went to the bus stop at 9.20am to catch the 9.31am to Dartford and continue my onward journey to Darent Hospital.

My bus arrived at 9.25am. When I got on the driver said I was too early and that I would have to pay or get off the bus.

After five or six minutes of arguing I told him I was not getting off nor was I going to pay.

He went on to say the next time he saw me he would not let me on the bus.

On my return from the hospital, I reported what had taken place to the bus company and I received no explanation or apology.

If your readers have had the misfortune to come up against this bus driver I certainly cannot see the point of complaining to Arriva.
