Letter to the editor: I was concerned by the article about a drone being used to take pictures of Gravesend (Views from the sky cause a buzz, September 3).
This is certainly a good use for drones, but they also have many bad uses.
The problem here is that they could be used by terrorists and criminals to assassinate people and they have been used to kill terrorists in Afghanistan and Pakistan. If they are mass produced, the price will come down. They could also be used for stalking. Drones could also be used to take photographs through people’s bedroom and bathroom windows by nasty neighbours.
As drones get even smaller, the time may not be far off when a tiny drone will fly through your open window and poison you in your sleep.
I think therefore that the private use and ownership of all drones should be banned and only the military and the police should be allowed to have them.
