Letter to the editor: Back in the 1960s I worked in the camera trade selling everything and anything to do with amateur photography. Back then there was no digital, it was all done with film, predominantly black and white, but with a growing interest in colour. I then got married and changed career direction.

Now retired, I have returned to those good old days by buying a camera made in the 1950s and some black and white film – and am doing my own film processing and loving every minute of it.

I was wondering if there were others still using film cameras?

I would love to hear from them with a view to starting an informal group to meet, say, once a month to discuss our wonderful hobby and perhaps arrange occasional walk-abouts and outings.

I would envisage that such a group would be open to everyone and be very informal – no fees, no rules, no competitions and no committee.
