Letter to the editor: I remember reading last year a young woman was told she was banned from Primark just because she took a picture of an item of clothing in the store.

Incredibly, a friend of mine had a similar experience, although she is not comfortable with me naming the store.

While the manager later clarified she was not banned, clearly the employees at Primark are not on the same page, otherwise security would not have felt compelled to leave customers feeling humiliated in such a manner.

Additionally, there are a lot more people taking pictures of clothing products than one might think, and I’m sure that most of them do it for a valid reason – such as asking people’s opinion on what looks good or sharing finds with friends.

I think I will be giving Primark a wide berth from now on.
