I recently received two leaflets about the EU/local elections. Conservative and UKIP. UKIP have gained a dangerous amount of supporters, unexpectedly. Conservatives have also done so, but expectedly. But it got me thinking, why do we get an unbalanced account of politics? We only hear whatever said parties have funding to tell us. So a rich party - even if it is unfair and undemocratic will get more votes than a poor party, even if they have the economy and the environment completely sussed. Unless of course people went to the trouble of researching political parties. But nobody has time for the future. But hey, I'm just a kid, and I believe in equality, diversity and saving the environment. WHAT DO I KNOW! P.S: Not a political expert in any way. Declan Mckenna, St Mary's CofE High School, Cheshunt.
