Letter to the editor: I was amazed to read your Editor’s Eye on the little girl who was spoken to by the police on the basis of criminal damage (Hopping Mad Over Our Heavy-Handed Police, News Shopper, May 15).

They should visit our estate at Riverview Park and see the criminal damage the water board had done to all the pavements when installing meters.

It used white paint, which is still there months later.

Our road Imperial Drive is an example.

The police should challenge the water board, which has not taken any action to clear up their graffiti.
