Letter to the editor: I was interested in your articles about Cray Wanderers.
When I played for them they claimed to be the oldest team in the world.
I remember in the Met League we played an Arsenal side with John Radford and Ray Kennedy.
West Ham brought Kevin Lock and Frank Lampard senior.
Kevin was a skillful, intelligent right back and Frank a fierce, impassable left back who liked to overlap roaring for the ball. Those four put professional football out of my mind.
My sons Mike and Pat played for the club, Mike playing pro football in Germany and in Switzerland for Schaffhausen.
He also played 14 times for England at fussball.
Pat lives near Hollywood with his actress wife.
Good luck to the Wands in their attempt to come home.
The Avalon Road site is very close to the homes of my sons Mike and James and I will be a regular.
JIM DELANEY, Orpington
