Letter to the editor: I agree with your recent reader’s letter (Why Can’t We Leave Our Wildlife Alone?, News Shopper, April 17).
I don’t know why humans think they are so superior to our wildlife. Animals have as much right to live on this planet as anyone else.
It’s a shame we aren’t able to cull some of the human beings who are hell-bent on destroying anything which doesn’t look, smell of behave like them. I don’t think we will ever learn.
Still, at least we can buy our children stuffed animal toys and fill our gardens with concrete statues of foxes, badgers and squirrels.
God forbid we catch sight of the real thing, it’s far too inconvenient. Good grief.
