Letter to the editor: Firstly, we must wish Jade Phillips a speedy and full recovery after her accident (Girl Lucky To Be Alive, News Shopper, March 13).

The antics of many parents on the school run have to be seen to be believed.

They will put their vehicles on the pavement, double-park, park at bizarre angles and cross the lines of traffic in an agressive and dangerous manner.

If the parents don’t know the correct procedure, what chance do the children have?

Jade’s headteacher says he has spoken to MP Adam Holloway about the matter. I hope he repeated his stated sentiments.

That is, he would like to see a few high-profile prosecutions of offending parents to ensure the overall behaviour improved.

In the meantime it is the duty of everyone concerned to reduce the possibility of another accident such as Jade’s to the absolute minimum.
