Letter to the editor: I am very concerned at the continued hype pertaining to the regeneration for Abbey Wood and the Crossrail arrival.
All I hear is people talking about the increase in house prices for sale and for rent.
Ask the people of Ebbsfleet what they think and they will tell you their house prices did not increase at all.
And if no-one is selling properties, where are the rentals going to come from?
I have heard there will be a Sainsbury’s store and a hotel built as part of the area’s regeneration.
Really? It’s Abbey Wood and with no regeneration planned to the actual village, businesses are going to suffer with people bypassing them for the new shopping area.
It is time for people to get their heads out of the clouds and realise Crossrail is not going to miraculously transform Abbey Wood into the new Knightsbridge.
