Apologies for the lateness of the post but it’s a busy time for the team right now. All this week we’ve been at a preparation camp in Bath, put on by “Paralympics GB”. Rugby is just one of many sports attending the camp which is designed to simulate the atmosphere of a multisport holding camp. A “holding camp” is a place where an entire Paralympic team will gather directly before a major event (such as London 2012) to acclimatize and prepare for their specific events. While here in Bath, we’ll train and act just as we would before we head to the Olympic Village in two years time.

The camp has been alive with the press and media because, as you may or may not know, Sunday marks two years until the beginning of the Paralympic Games in London! All week, members of the Team GB have been filmed or interviewed as newspapers and broadcasters cover the story. My teammate “Mandip Sehmi” has done pieces for pullouts in the “Sun” and “News of the World”, while I’ve been speaking to “The Sunday Times”, so be sure to check out their Paralympic supplement this weekend.

Sunday also sees the culmination of many months work as “Channel 4” air their groundbreaking new documentary “Inside Incredible Athletes”. The programme goes out at 9pm on Sunday evening and features two members of Squad 2012, “Steve Brown and “Mandip Sehmi” as well as several other Paralympians as they strive for perfection in their sports. …Amidst all the hype for London, it could also be easy to forget that in just three weeks today, the team will be flying to Vancouver to compete in the World Championships. You can find out more about our final preparation camp in my next post but until then, follow the link below to see “BBC London” catching up with us during one of our training sessions…
