Students from Dartford Grammar School performed Fiddler on the Roof at the Mick Jagger Centre.

The show nights were on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd June, at the Mick Jagger Centre. The Mayor of Dartford, Rosanna Currans watched the production, along with members of the public.

The Fiddler on the Roof musical is set in Anatevka, a small shtetl (village) in Tsarist Russian not far from Kiev. It is a musical about a father named Tevye who tries to maintain Jewish traditions, while his three daughters marry for love instead. Towards the end, the Tsar evicts the Jews from their village, Anatevka, and their journey never ends.

The production was directed by Dartford Grammar School Drama teacher, Mr Stevens and music and singing was coordinated by Music teacher, Mrs du Plessis. The production featured students from Year 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12 with the Drama, Music and Art department who collaborated so well together to create an amazing production!

Liam (14), who portrayed Lazar Wolf said “I really enjoyed performing and think that the school productions at Dartford Grammar School encourage and influence creativity in young people."
