Community radio returns to Sydenham as Monday the 10th of July sees the launch of a new online community radio station, Radio Sydenham.

Managing Director of Radio Sydenham, Tom Edwards, said, "At the time I was asked to get involved with the previous station but due to a number of reasons that station closed. As many people were asking about what was happening, we decided to start afresh. We have a great set of volunteers who go around Sydenham and Lewisham interviewing people at various events. These will be used as programme segments but can also be found as podcasts online. We've had a lot of fantastic help and advice from a number of local BBC engineers who have come in and offered training in sound production".

Radio Sydenham is a volunteer run community online radio station based in Sydenham, South East London. We engage with the local community as well as the rest of the London Borough of Lewisham. Our volunteers are from all walks of life and ages. As well as a variety of music, we also conduct interviews with, for example, local community groups, musicians, artists and politicians. Some of these can be found on our mixcloud page. We are funded by donations and community funding and are always on the lookout for volunteers.

Our website is at www.radiosydenham.co.uk and you'll also find us on Twitter and Facebook and our podcasts can be found at www.mixcloud.com/RadioSydenham.
