The former Ladywell leisure centre has been transformed into an exciting indoor retail market. For several years the popular swimming baths was empty and an eyesore in the community, now it’s a hub of activity with a great selection of independent shops, which sells a range of products from original art to vintage collectibles and flowers to artisans items.

One of the shops, Casilda’s Nice Things, is a wonderful treasure trove where you will discover an array of truly nice things. The shop is the brainchild of Sukai Eccleston who launched her business at the Place/Ladywell last December. Her shop is a thoughtful curated collection of art and handmade items sourced mainly from south London artists and crafts people. She said: ‘’I think we should all live with something beautiful. My aim is to showcase the work of local artists as well as source quirky designs and vintage collectibles that will make my customers smile.’’ Included in shop’s eclectic product mix, you will find original artwork by Streatham based artists Marion Jones and Chris Lessware, Jewellery by Lewisham based designer, Elizabeth Chandler and inspiring homewares and textiles by surface designer, Suitcase Susie.

Shoppers who present or quote this article and CasildasSE13 will receive 10% off purchases over £50. So get down to the Place Ladywell and treat yourself to some nice things.
