Casilda’s Nice Things is delighted to announce that Chris Lessware will be attending a meet and greet at the Place/Ladywell on Saturday 17th June. This is the second event in a series of monthly Artist Meet and Greets, which has been organised to introduce local artists to members of the public and talk informally about their work, which is available to purchase from the south London art and gift shop.

Chris Lessware lives and work in south London. He started painting in 2004. His first works were industrial land and riverscapes set around the South Bank area, which was undergoing development at the time. These were small pictures on paper, executed in pastel and oil pastel. In 2007, he began experimenting with abstract forms in acrylic on heavy watercolour paper, but in recent years he has graduated to painting very large canvases in oil.

Casilda’s Nice Things is dedicated to highlighting the artistic talent in south London and creating a platform to showcase the work of local artists and artisans. The monthly Artist Meet and Greet events are the perfect opportunity to hang out with artists in a relaxed atmosphere and perhaps snap up original art or limited edition prints at very affordable prices. On the night, art purchases over £250 will qualify for a 10% discount and served with a glass of wine.

The event starts at 5pm and ends 6.30pm at Casilda’s Nice Things, 261 Lewisham High Street, London SE13 6AY. Get there early to enjoy a glass of wine or two.
