With this talented squad representing Danson Primary School, it was hard not to be optimistic about the upcoming season.

The boys showed all the right qualities for a good, hardworking, successful team.

Even with these expectant thoughts, we were still blown away by the grit and determination the boys displayed in each and every game to become the first ever primary school team to win all four Bexley trophies up for grabs in one season.

The boys kicked off their winning streak with the 7-a-side tournament. The tournament took place on the 6th October at Goals in Bexleyheath.

With Danson flying though the group stages and into the semi-finals against Barnehurst, and then going on to win the final against Lessness Heath, the boys showed that they were a force to be reckoned with this upcoming season.

The team then went on to winning the League title in a close match against Holy Trinity. This took place on the 6th February.

After securing the central title against St Stephens winning 8-2, the team went into the final match with confidence. With fantastic goals from Mason Hunter and Mikey Moore, the boys won 2-1 and took home another trophy.

Leading on from their double victories, the boys were in high spirits and this presented itself throughout the next tournament they took place in.

With George Underwood unable to make it, Romeo Hermosa-Riza stepped up. On Friday 3rd March the team hoped to make it 3 out of 3 trophies.

Danson won both of their group games against Our Lady Of the Rosary and Bishop Ridley with some great goals from the boys. After winning the semi-finals comfortably we played a very passionate final game against St Thomas More, the boys held strong and performed brilliantly and went on to win 3-1.

On Thursday 28th March, the Danson boys’ football team competed in the Digger Dane Cup final with the hope that they could win to be the first ever school to complete the quadruple.

Danson played Bedonwell in the final taking an early lead. At the end of the first half the score was 2-0, the boys were quietly optimistic as they had good possession throughout the game so far.

With the second half underway the team worked together with good communication between them, and this showed in the score with Danson coming out on top 5-1 which made Danson Primary School the first team in Bexley history to win all four trophies in one season since the trophies were first created in 1982.

Here at Danson we are so incredibly proud of all the boys that played this season and to have completed this amazing achievement is something that will always be in our history books. Every one of the boys that represented the school has surpassed what was asked of them in the most spectacular of ways. A huge well done to each and every one of them.
