A Dartford dance group is celebrating after a busy weekend attending three competitions in two days.

The Knight's Academy of Dance, based at The Mick Jagger Centre, Shepherds Lane, travelled to Folkestone and then to two different competitions in Essex.

Nineteen dancers from the school aged between five and 12 took part in the three events over two days.

The teams danced to victory and came away with an armful of trophies and medals and advancement to semi-finals in Blackpool.

The whole team attended So You Want To Dance at the Leas Cliff Theatre in Folkestone and came away with solo, duo, trio and group success.

The Performing Team attend Move It Shake It in Benfleet, Essex. Although the competition was tough the team still managed to win with solo and group dances.

In Grays, Essex the Competition Team were attending That's Showbiz, the largest team dance competition in the UK & Ireland.

Although there was amazing competition, the team were able to celebrate wins for all of their dances which advances them to the semi-finals in Blackpool in October.

Stacey Knight, principal of The Knights Academy of Dance said: "I am so incredibly proud of all of our children.

"To achieve such great results against such talented dance schools really is something.

"They should be very proud of themselves and the fantastic results they achieved.

"They never cease to amaze me with their hard work, dedication and huge amounts of talent.

"The children are a pleasure to take away to competitions and an absolute credit to the younger generation."
