Bespoke cake designer Becky Skinner, owner of Skinner's Delight, wanted to raise much needed funds for the British Heart Foundation in memory of her father.

Jerry Skinner passed away in August 2006 after suffering an unexpected heart attack whilst on holiday in France.

Skinner's Delight is a firm believer in supporting charities close to their heart, as such, set about designing a one of a kind cake to wow the audience.

Jerry was a Traffic Police Officer for the majority of his career, the logo for which is the face of a black rat. The chocolate sponge cake filled with 4,200 grams of milk chocolate and 2,400ml of double cream, was carefully carved and sculpted into the shape of a standing black rat and adorned with the familiar florescent yellow jacket and white flat hat.

The cake was exhibited at Cake International, London 22nd-23rd April 2017 and then raffled off raising £235 for the British Heart Foundation.

After only making cakes for one year, Skinner's Delight felt that there was little hope of gaining any credit, imagine the delight of Becky Skinner when she discovered she had bagged the Bronze Award for her category "Pushing the Boundaries".

Feeling absolutely thrilled with her achievement, Skinner's Delight look's forward to aiming for Gold at next years Cake International. Locally based in Longfield, Skinner's Delight designs and creates bespoke cakes.
