A husband and wife from Bromley, who were inspired to run The London Marathon to help vulnerable children and young people, proudly crossed the finish line on Sunday to raise money for The Children’s Society. Jonathan and Charlotte Faint completed the gruelling 26.2 mile course in an impressive 4 hrs and 53 minutes on Sunday 23 April to support the charity’s work with the most vulnerable children across the country who experience dangers such as child sexual exploitation, poverty and neglect.

Jonathan, a photographer, and Charlotte who is a business owner from Bromley, are passionate about helping young people – a cause that led them to run for the charity. They chose to take on this personal challenge for The Children’s Society because they have supported the charity through their church in the past and wanted to help vulnerable children and young have a good childhood. So far, the couple have raised £3,757.42 towards the charity’s work with vulnerable young people.

Reflecting on their personal challenge and resolve to make a difference, Jonathan said: “Crossing the finish line of this year’s London Marathon is a big personal achievement and we’re so proud to have supported such a vital cause. It feels amazing!

“Some parts of the race were really tough but we know those miles won’t be as challenging as the experiences some children have to face every day. Knowing we were helping vulnerable young people across the country pulled us through the hardest times.”

The Children’s Society’s Challenge Event Coordinator, Reena Ruda says: “Running the London Marathon is a truly amazing accomplishment and Jonathan and Charlotte’s inspiring efforts will help to make a real difference to young people’s lives. Their fundraising, along with all of our London Marathon runners, will support our vital work with children who often have nowhere left to turn.’ Their online sponsorship page can be viewed at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Charlotte-Faint
