Avante Care & Support’s care home, Parkview in Bexleyheath, in the London Borough of Bexley has recently received a ‘Good’ rating from the Care Quality Commission.
Located in Bexleyheath, in the London Borough of Bexley, Parkview is a residential home providing accommodation, care and support for up to 69 people living with dementia. CQC inspectors carried out an unannounced inspection of the home on 21 February 2017. After careful inspection of all the key areas, CQC awarded the home an overall rating of ‘Good’.
CQC inspections ensure providers meet the legal requirements and regulations associated with the Health and Social Care Act 2008, look at the overall quality of the service, and provide a rating for the service under the Care Act 2014.
During the inspection CQC inspectors observed staff with residents, and examined records including the staffing rota, policies, incident and accident records, recruitment and training records, meeting minutes and audit reports.
Parkview’s Manager, Patricia Collis said, “Everyone at Parkview is happy with our report and we will continue to build on this result moving forward. All of our staff are fully committed to giving excellent care and putting our residents first.”
The Care Quality Commission stated that the home provides safe care and treatment for residents, with staff ensuring that residents were supported and that they lived in a safe environment. One resident said, "I am happy here. They [staff] look after me well." Another resident said, "Staff do listen and have time to sit and have a chat."
People received care and support from staff who were skilled and knowledgeable about their role. Relatives spoke about their peace of mind as they felt their family members were well cared for and safe. A relative said, "The staff are lovely and my relative is well looked after." A healthcare professional who spoke with one of the CQC Inspectors said, "Staff understand people's needs and know how to support them the right way."
Avante Care & Support’s Managing Director, Stuart Cross said, “We are delighted to have been awarded this rating for Parkview care home. Our staff work exceptionally hard to provide great care and support to local people and their families in Bexley. We look forward to improving the home and its services even further.”
