Chislehurst Golf Club presented Bromley Mencap with a cheque following a year of fundraising to amount of £17,770.18. Lady Golf Captain, Maggie Unwin, had chosen Bromley Mencap as her charity of the year when she took office 12 months ago. The club has raised the money through many events including afternoon tea, golf days, a bridge afternoon, various raffles and a summer concert.
Bromley Mencap are delighted that the club decided to chose a local charity to support. “This is a magnificent amount and we are truly overwhelmed by the amount raised. It will make a huge difference to a small charity like us, especially, as we are developing a Community Hub at Norman Park which desperately needs funding."
The cheque was presented by Maggie Unwin and Alan Baldwin, Lady Captain and Captain of Chislehurst Golf Club, to Ann Kean, Vice Chair of Bromley Mencap and Jane Barnes, Corporate & Community Fundraiser, Bromley Mencap.
