Every year several of the Bromley secondary schools join together to compete in a Key Stage Three Art Competition, that focus’ on the talent of Bromley’s 11 to 14 year olds budding artists.

This year the event was hosted by Miss Jessica Stroud, Art Teacher at Darrick Wood School. The afternoon was an amazing success and an excellent opportunity to showcase the wonderfully gifted among our young artists.

Schools participating this year were; Hayes, Charles Darwin, Ravenswood & Darrick Wood and attendance from parents and pupils from all schools was superb. Our guest judge, Emma McHugh, local Designer & Artist had the tough task of choosing winners and after a lot of deliberating the following was announced.

Overall best year 7 Yazmin Cazalet-Smith (Charles Darwin)

Overall best year 8 Evie Brett (Darrick Wood)

Overall best year 9 Emily Steele (Hayes)

Overall best Portrait Rosie Moore (Darrick Wood) and William Leggatt (Ravenswood)

Overall best Still-life Hannah Peters (Charles Darwin)

Overall best Sculpture Isabella Dibley (Darrick Wood) and Hermione Weston (Charles Darwin)

Overall best landscape Sam Taylor (Ravenswood)

And, finally, overall best school went to Hayes.
