There's a new market in Catford and it's at Mecca bingo. Yes a bingo hall. Mecca is supporting several craft and artisan small start up businesses. The market occurs every Saturday from 11 a.m. To 4 p.m. and sells hand crafted/knitted jewellery and clothes for babies and adults, or if you prefer to knit yourself, you can buy wool. Hand crafted cards are also available There is also Forever Living products, home decor items and a author selling her own original books that she writes and illustrates.
The ladies running these small businesses are very enthusiastic about this new venue and pointed out there is not many markets where you can be warm and dry, park for free, get a cup of tea or glass of wine, or have an afternoon out, play bingo have a meal/drink and shop in one place. There's also a free Easter draw for market customers for a hamper of goodies.
