Now that spring is here and the weather is improving, Orpington bowling club is opening its doors to anyone who would like to come a have a try at bowls.
The clubis located in Goddington Lane BR6 9DH, where you will find a large car park free of charge. They are partly funded by London Borough of Bromley and are a valued part of the community.
The bowlers vary in age, in fact they are unusual in that they have a junior section aged 8-18, who play to a very good standard.
Bowling is a good physical activity, and they walk quite a long way in a match of 21 ends. In fact GP surgeries have been happy for them to put a leaflet on their notice board, as an option for general well being .
The club is also a great social outlet, with quiz nights, cabaret evenings , BBQs, and bowls touring holidays in the UK and abroad.
They would like to raise awareness of the club and are holding two open days, where they invite people to come along and try bowls, then maybe join them if they enjoy it.
