The community of SKSS Temple Woolwich, as well as members from the local community gathered on Sunday March 12 to celebrate the colourful festival of Holi! A first time event in the SKSS communities’ 29 year history was held in the park directly opposite the Temple which is due to reopen this August. With over 250 attendees participating in throwing coloured powder and making new friends in a lively atmosphere with music and food was sure to make this a successful event which will no doubt become an annual occurrence!
This event was a part of a host of other events taking place this summer in the promotion of the ceremonial opening of the new temple to be held across 9 days from August 5-13 2017. A grand procession, musical shows, cultural events and a fireworks show, open to all, are a few of the many planned events to celebrate the impressive 29 years of communal activity and opening of the new temple and community hub.
