Forest Hill based travel agent Kate Matthews who runs her own business as part of leading independent travel company Travel Counsellors, is celebrating after winning the accolade of Top Homeworking Agency in the UK & Ireland for the second year running.
The company was given this honour at the Travel Trade Gazette’s (TTG) Top 50 awards, held at Birmingham’s Vox Centre, which recognises a power-list of the nation’s best travel companies for 2017. It followed an exhaustive judging process led by travel industry bible TTG, which saw agents rated by industry members, and assessed by travel trade journalists.
TTG Managing Director, Daniel Pearce said: "We launched the TTG Top 50 Travel Agencies to find the best travel sellers in the country – and there is no doubt that Travel Counsellors is a more-than-worthy winner for the second year running. The Top Homeworking Agency was a very hotly contested category, and it was a pleasure to be able to present the award to such a vibrant, energetic and forward thinking business as Travel Counsellors."
With over 10 of industry experience under her belt, Kate began her leisure business as a Travel Counsellor in June 2016. Since then, she has built a thriving business by delivering a truly personal and bespoke travel service to her customers, which continues to go from strength to strength. Achieving her best ever month of sales in January 2017 and she continues to hold a top NPS score of 100%.

My business model is based around putting my customers first in everything I do – that’s the beauty of being an independent tour operator as I can offer the customer the holiday that’s right for them every time and create very special, one-off itineraries.
