Drivers at Bexley Kart Club have started the new race season with a bang and the flurry of trophies is keeping the club at the forefront of their national association, NatSKA. New drivers have also joined the club and are already joining in the success.

Continuing on from last season’s success which ended with 35 trophies for the team, this season, whilst not yet half way through, has already brought in a number of trophies including 4 class wins at the last round at Buckmore Park. First places went to Henry Wardell in Junior Honda; Max Johnson pipped his own brother in TKM making 3 wins this season; Josh Neve added a 3rd season win in Cadet to take him to the top of the championship and Harry Parr won Novice of the Day on his first outing. Henry’s win included his first ever races wins too. Other club drivers also had memorable days and drove hard at one of the fastest circuits on the calendar.

It is not all great news though; this success is however tinged by the hugely disappointing news the club must leave their dedicated workshop at Bexleyheath Academy due to financial constraints on the Academy and the need to develop the building. Both the team and Academy regret the split with the club very grateful for the support over the past two years and the extended period given to the club to find new premises.

After a long search, plans are being prepared for a move to Shooters Hill Academy in Greenwich with no premises available in the borough of Bexley. This is a tremendous shame as the club has been in Bexley for close to 35 years and means Kent loses its only NatSKA kart racing team, but a new and hopefully equally successful chapter awaits.
