Over the past couple of years Sherwood Park have built strong links with Queen Mary’s hospital through the school choir singing on Meadowview Ward and in the foyer raising money for the JDRF charity. As part of this Queen Mary's organised an art competition, asking the children from Sherwood Park Primary School to design some pictures that could be displayed on the hoarding around the building work being carried out by Galiford Try.
Following on from the competition all KS2 classes are to visit Queen Mary’s, where they will be given a talk on the dangers of playing on a building site, look at the site through specially prepared viewing areas and take part in a class competition to see who can build the strongest bridge, from lego. This is all part of Galiford Try's education programme.
