Saturday saw the launch of The 1Life Community Fit Bus at Downham Health and Leisure Centre.

This Bus will go out into the community and increase the activity levels of people in Lewisham and Bromley who for reasons of disability or illness, age or infirmity, have limited / no access to the mental and physical benefits of exercise.

In attendance were the Lewisham Young Mayor Kayla Sh'ay, Downham Labour councillors Olurotimi Ogunbadewa and Andre Bourne as well as Downham Health & Leisure Centre Emma health and physical activity manager Emma Greenslade and Edwin Lampert of The Brun Bear Foundation.

The Brun Bear Foundation is a local charity that raised £500 in support of the bus through a sporting event known as The Downham TRIPLE Challenge which is held bi-annually at the centre. The next one is in June and will again donate proceeds to community causes.
